What Allan built

  • The API contract

    Defined consistent API endpoints for spaces, threads, replies and votes, so the frontend could be built against them in parallel.

  • Accounts, roles and permissions

    Designed institutional sign-up and the role model that separates students, class reps, tutors and moderators, including the checks that enforce it on every request.

  • Technical direction

    Chose the stack, split the work across the team, and ran the reviews that kept a five-person codebase reading like one person wrote it.

  • Getting it live

    Owned the path from a local branch to a running deployment, so shipping was a routine step rather than an event.
